Kingston Sailing Club was well represented at the season's two first HRYRA events and all three boats collected silver at the Chelsea Yacht Club regatta last weekend with Puck III and Sterling finishing second in the A & B Fleet respectively and Innovator placing third in the B Fleet. A week earlier Sterling & Innovator again finished second and third at the Hudson Cove regatta. Congratulations to skippers & crews.

The Kingston Sailing Club (KSC) coordinates and hosts weekly sailboat races for its members on the Hudson River, near Kingston, New York.  There is a spring and fall series of 16 races each, including the annual Maritime Cup Regatta in June and the Spinnenweber Cup Regatta in the fall. In addition KSC hosts the Mid Hudson Long Distance Regatta in August in association with the Norrie Point Sailing Club and the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club.

The club features an amicable racing environment, great for both beginners and experienced racers.  Racing is open to all boat sizes and designs.  As a minimum, one Jib and Main (JAM) fleet and one Spinnaker (SPIN) fleet are established for each series.  A One Design fleet may be established if enough boats are registered for a series.  Boats are assigned a handicap based on PHRF. The PHRF ratings are assigned by the Hudson River Yacht Racing Association (HRYRA).

During the racing season skippers' meetings are held every Sunday at 10am under the KSC tent at the Hudson River Maritime Museum on the Roundout in Kingston. We welcome new skippers and crew to attend.

KSC also hosts an annual Moonlight Sail in August as well as cruises, raft-ups and other social events.  Check the Calendar for upcoming events and announcements.

The club is run by volunteer officers, nominated and elected by members.  The officers meet regularly to establish procedures, events and policy. KSC is a member of U.S. Sailing.

Race results are distributed by e-mail and are also available on this website.

The club collects a nominal membership fee to cover operating expenses such as mailings and the purchase of club equipment (racing marks, horns, etc.)  For more information contact Commodore Terry Baldwin (Innovator723@hotmail.com) or Web Master Ian Westergren (ian@spw.com).
