SPW Volunteering Week – Making a Difference Together

At SPW, our purpose is to change lives - not only for our clients but for the communities we’re part of. Earlier this October, we proudly hosted our second volunteering week of 2025, building on the success of our spring initiative where 37 colleagues gave their time across Leeds, London and Manchester.

From 6–9 October, colleagues came together in Leeds, Bristol, London and Birmingham to support a range of inspiring charities:

  • Leeds Autism Services – Volunteers helped brighten and modernise facilities and improve outdoor spaces, creating a more welcoming environment.
  • Tynings Field, Bristol – Teams contributed to building a Berry Maze, promoting community interaction, local food growing and biodiversity.
  • Tooting and Balham Sea Cadets, London – Activities included painting, planting and tidying to enhance the space for young cadets.
  • Solihull Riding Club, Birmingham – Volunteers refreshed stables and grounds to support inclusive equestrian training for young people with disabilities.

For those unable to attend in person, colleagues supported the Social Mobility Foundation by reviewing CVs and personal statements for high-achieving students from lower socio-economic backgrounds. This remote volunteering option allowed meaningful contributions in just 30–60 minutes.

Every colleague at SPW is given two Community Action Days per year to support local communities or charities they care about and we were delighted to see over 65 [EP1] of our colleagues take part in volunteering events during our October volunteering week.

SPW’s goal of reaching 1,500 volunteering hours in 2025 is well underway, with every minute making a difference. Whether through organised events or team-led initiatives, our colleagues demonstrated a shared commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities.

We continue to live our purpose - by giving back, together.
